Applied Course on Viscosity Test Methods

(At Brookfield Engineering Labs, Inc, and Select Regions Only):

This One-Day Course is offered in addition to the Regional Practical Course and is designed for the intermediate to advanced Brookfield Instrumentation user. It will review and discuss how Brookfield Rotational Viscometers and Rheometers can be used to provide meaningful analysis of your products, and will take to you beyond pass fail criteria, and onto an understanding of how to apply viscometric data as a problem solving and product performance/processing tool.

Staff from R&D, Analytical, and Process Engineering functions will benefit from this focused look of a variety of viscosity test methods and techniques. This course will address:

  • Fluid Behaviors: How to characterize and understand changes in a fluid's measured viscosity
  • Controlled stress vs. controlled rate measurements: options for rotational measurements that are useful for you to know and use
  • Yield measurements: the who, how, and why of yield measurements
  • Math Modeling: for advanced analysis
  • Recommendations for in-line monitoring
